PRICE TO SELL!

There’s nothing more rewarding than cleaning out your closets AND making money at the same time!

A good rule-of-thumb for ALL types of items: price 1/4 – 1/3 of the original retail. This varies according to the brand of your items and the condition they are in. Generally, items should never be priced over 1/3 the original price unless they are new, never used, in the original packaging or with tags.

On the last day of sale, you can let things go for 1/2 price! It’s better to get 50% and clean out your closets than to get items back that you don’t need. When printing your tags, say ‘NO’ to the discount option on the select items that you DO NOT want to go 1/2 price the last day of the sale. If you plan to DONATE your unsold items, definitely say ‘YES’ to the donate option when printing your tags!

Below you will find the typical range of pricing for common items sold!

Tagging instructions

CLOTHING ITEMS:

  • Use a tagging gun or a safety pin to attach the tag to fabric items.
  • Do not attach the tag to the main fabric of the item, as there is a chance of making a hole.
  • Do not use staples, ribbon, tape, bobby pins, or binder clips.
  • Do not cover the barcode.
  • Make sure the tag is in a highly visible area.
  • If tagging a set, label the tag as an “X Piece Set”, and then with a piece of masking tape, label each piece with your seller number, item number, and piece X of X.
  • For secondary security, you can attach masking tape with your seller number and item number to the item in addition to its tag in case the tag gets separated from the item.

NON-CLOTHING ITEMS:

Toys & Equipment:

  • Use zip ties whenever possible
  • If needed, use clear packing tape
  • Small Items, Loose Toys & small shoes:
    • Place in zip lock bag, tape tag outside the bag and tape bags closed.

Books:

  • If you are bringing 10+ books for sale, it is mandatory that you bring them in a cardboard box.
  • Boxes will be used to display books for ease in shopping.
  • Please place the books in the box with the spines facing up.
  • You can also tie the books together with a ribbon or rubber band if selling them as a set.

Large Plastic Toys:

  • Use a sharpie marker and write the following on the bottom of the item: Seller # and Price.
  • This process goes for all LARGE plastic toys (too large to display on a table), whether they were used indoor or outdoor by your child.
  • Tags these items with a normal price tag as well.
  • The underneath marking is a secondary security.
  • This is a mandatory policy protecting Sellers and ensuring they are paid for items.

LIMITATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS:

  • Stuffed Animals: Do not bring stuffed animals that were not originally priced $12+.
    • Limit 3 stuffed animals per seller
  • Shoes: Should be zip tied to each other to avoid separation, do not place them in bags, only infant shoes should be placed in bags.

APPROVED HANGERS:

  • Available (free or low cost) at most dry cleaners or Facebook Marketplace for free or low cost
  • Face hanger opening to the left (?)

Another option is to go directly to the manufacture’s website for a list of recalls.  The Consumer Protection Agency requires Resellers (which are the Sellers themselves) not to sell recalled items.  For your best interest as a Reseller, please make sure that recalled items are not brought to the sale.  Thank you.
